Record your first sale

The full path from quote to cash: quote, sales order, invoice, payment — and the ledger entries each step creates.

Steps

  1. 1

    Add a customer

Sales → Customers → New. Just a name and contact are required; everything else — deal stage, notes, activity — can be filled in later.

  2. 2

    Create a quote

Add line items from your product catalog, or type ad-hoc ones. No ledger entries happen yet — a quote is just a proposal.

  3. 3

Convert it to a sales order, then an invoice

Each conversion carries the line items forward. Converting to an invoice is the point where Coro posts a balanced journal entry: debit Accounts Receivable, credit Revenue.

  4. 4

    Record the payment

Payments → New, matched to the invoice. This posts a second entry — debit Cash, credit Accounts Receivable — and marks the invoice paid.

Every one of these mutations happens through a Postgres RPC with an idempotency key, not a raw client-side insert — so a double-click or a retried request can never create a duplicate invoice or payment.

See it on the statements

Open Reports → Income Statement for the current period — your test revenue should already be there. Click the total to drill down: that’s “Explain this number,” and it’s the same drill-down available on every figure in every statement, not just this one.
